When it comes to your wedding invite envelopes, there are many ways to have it match your wedding invitation. For instance, you could make your own envelope and customize it to both fit and match your wedding invitation. To do this, start with taking measurements. Measure the length of the bottom of the envelope. Then, measure the envelope from the base of the envelope to the top of the pointed top of the envelope. Once you have these dimensions, measure the width of the envelope at several different points, as the width will increase as it nears the top.

Draw out your measurements, creating a house-like shape and measure in and mark one quarter of an inch all the way around. After you have made this mark, continue to place this piece of paper on a piece of cardboard or template plastic. You can make a template with plastic that you find at your local craft store. Tape down your paper template to the plastic template and begin to cut into both carefully. Make sure you stay on the mark that is one quarter of an inch in. You should end up with a plastic template that fits nicely into your envelope just short enough to create a nice white border.
Take your plastic template to the paper of your choice and trace along the edge of your template to cut into the pretty paper. This should give you a perfect paper insert for your envelope. Take the newly cut paper and put it into your envelope. Just a few small dabs of a glue stick should hold it down. When you choose this technique, you will have a set of envelopes that will match perfectly with your modern wedding invites. You will find that this technique is much easier on the pocket as custom-made envelopes can be very costly in the market.
