Student Loans Without Cosigner – Funding College

Funding college can be a difficult task. When grants and scholarships are not an option, it is necessary to turn to student loans to secure the funds. While many companies will lend out large amounts for education, a cosigner is often required to lessen the risk for the lender.  This may not be an option, but it is possible to secure student loans without cosigner.  Many businesses are more than willing to lend cash to students for tuition, books and living expenses.

Finding a loan that does not require a cosigner is not as difficult as is sometimes believed.  Federal loans are available through most colleges that can be taken out only in the student’s name and does not require a third party signature.  If Federal loans are not an option, a bank or other private lender can be persuaded to lend the money, as well.  When getting student loans of this nature, with no cosigner, there is often a limit to the funds available.  The amount available will vary depending on the credit history of the student, the amount desired and the interest rate at which it is borrowed, but it is still possible to secure such loans fairly easily.

These types of loans are not available for every student, and they certainly are not given out from every bank and lending company.  That being said, it is possible to find a lender who is willing to give student loans without cosigner.  Some research will need to be done on the companies in the area of the college that have a history of approving those types of loans, and some negotiating may need to take place, as loans are not a static business.  However, with effort and research, it is certainly possible to fin a company that is willing to give a loan in the student’s name and not based on a third party.
