Pay Per Click advertising is quickly growing in popularity as more and more folks attempt to capture a small percentage of the millions of online shopper today. PPC or Pay Per Click Advertising when done correctly can be a very cost effective means of advertisement. Right now, in 2010 Google is the king of search engines capturing about 70% of the online searches taking place. Google AdWords is also the most popular and most comprehensive tool for anyone to bring their offering to the public by way of Pay Per Click advertising.

Google AdWords Tips: What may be for a limited time, Google is offering their services by setting up the first advertising campaign for the new advertiser. A Google AdWords specialist will consult with you and create the perfect campaign from your specifications. This offer may not last forever; Call 877-721-1743 for details.

Let’s take a high level overview of Google AdWords and the inner workings;
The greatest benefit to using AdWords is that you only have to pay when a searcher clicks on your ad and lands on your web site. You ads will show to your prospects on the Google search engine results pages, The PPC ads display either on the very top of the search results page in a shaded area, and they also run down along the right hand side of the page. They are clearly denoted as “Sponsored Links”. When the searcher types in a keyword that you have within you AdWords campaign, you ad will be triggered to show to them. Just where on the page your ad comes up (Your Page Position) is determined by how much you are willing to bid for that keyword compared to the other advertisers bidding for that keyword. In most cases you will pay just one penny over what the next person is willing to bid. If you competition is bidding $3 for the term “hamburger” and your bid is $4, you will only pay $3.01 to be listed just above your competitor.

Google AdWords Tips: You really have to be cautious when you’re setting up your campaigns. A lot of the settings are set by default to let you run wide open. Be sure your ads are only showing to your intended audience. Not the entire world, carefully choose your keyword match type and create a daily budget (spend) you can live with. You don’t any billing surprises on your credit card statement when you get it a month later.

While we’re on the topic of setting, most times campaigns are set by default to run on both the Google Search network and the Display network (formerly the Content Network). Within the Search Network you have the option of “Google only” results pages, you can include “Google partner” search pages i.e. Aol etc… Also you can have your ads appear on “Google Partner Websites” i.e. About.com, EzineArticles.com etc… These websites have an agreement with Google to show sponsored ads on their sites by way of Google Adsense. Google Adsense will pay the site owner a percentage of the “click revenue” generated from a searcher clicking on the ads that the partner site hosts. Using the Google Display network, you can set your ads to show on all partner sites or you may choose which sites your ads appear on by opting for what’s called placement targeting or site targeting. Letting Google place your ads on any site in the network basically leaves it up to them where they place your ad. Using placement targeting YOU get to decide where your ad will show. Interested in More? Stay tuned for more Google AdWords Tips and general PPC information.
