If you do not know a person well for whom you must buy a gift, it can be hard to decide on a something they do not already have. Even shopping for family and close friends can be hard at times. There are several options for buyers to consider among the variety of gifts available.

Gift cards:

A gift card to the recipient’s favorite store or a hobby shop that matches their interest would be a great way to be sure they can get what they want. Your gift can also be used to contribute to a higher priced item they want. Offering free gift cards or free gift certificates will surely allow them to obtain the kind of gift that they want.

Popular restaurant cards:

Consider a gift card to a chain restaurant that is popular with nearly everyone, such as Dunkin Doughnuts, Wendy’s or Starbucks, for instance. These gifts work well for coworkers or someone whose taste you are not familiar with.

Department store or books:

If you need a gift for a college student, cards to the school bookstore would be a great functional gift, and also consider a card to a chain such as Walmart, which can be used in any area.

Subscriptions to magazines:

Some people buy magazines each month but do not have a subscription. An abundance of magazines exists in just about any hobby or niche, and a subscription to match someone’s interest would be a welcome gift.

Tickets to concerts:

Purchasing two tickets to a concert for your recipient is a good option so long as you choose the type of music to match his or her taste. If you want to provide a larger gift, consider paying for hotel and transportation, as well, for an out-of-town concert.

Sporting event tickets:

If you have an avid sports fan on your list, consider buying tickets to national events such as the College World Series, or a local sporting event that is generating a lot of interest.

Item of the month club:

Clubs are available at fairly reasonable prices in which something will be sent to the recipient every month for a year. A variety of choices are available, from chocolates, fruits, coffees, or non-edibles such as T-shirts or flowers. If you can match the person’s taste it would surely be a welcome gift that gives all year.
